  • What are the benefits of LVT vs hardwood?

Depending on the space that the flooring is going into, one may be better than another. LVT is a great option where durability and easy maintenance are most important. The visuals are incredible and will look just like hardwood flooring. LVT brings scratch resistance and water-resistant qualities that wood may not.

On the other hand, wood is a natural and more organic product—no wood floor looks the same! Touching up scratches in wood may be easier than LVT, but they aren’t going to be scratch or water-resistant.

We’re always happy to give suggestions and guide you through the selection process to find the best fit for your home and your lifestyle.

  • What are the benefits of porcelain vs ceramic tile?

Porcelain will have a higher resistance to cracking and chipping. Typically, porcelain can be used on floors and walls, in wet areas, and sometimes even on exterior applications. Ceramic is generally better suited for walls, where it will not be prone to cracks or carrying heavy loads. Contact our flooring store today to learn more about which is right for you.

  • I hear that wool carpet is really expensive and hard to maintain. Is that true?

Some wool carpets can actually be quite affordable and similar in cost to synthetic fibers like Nylon and Polyester. Wool has many amazing benefits! It’s a natural fiber and truly cleans up the easiest as long as you know what to do. Get in touch with us today to learn more about wool carpets from one of the most experienced flooring stores in the area.

  • What carpet is best for my stairs?

Wool is the toughest carpet fiber for high traffic areas such as stairs. A low-loop or cut and loop pile will be the best as it’s the strongest and will hide soiling and traffic patterns. Contact our flooring store today for more information!

  • What kind of window treatments will work best for light control?

There are so many ways to go about controlling light. Silhouettes will provide a filtered light and the ability to tilt veins similar to a wood blind.  You even have the option to add a black-out panel in the back to give you another level of light control and privacy. From roller shades to wood blinds, there are many choices, so stop by to see them in person or call for more details.

  • Can I get any window treatment in a motorized system?

Almost all Hunter Douglas products are available in their PowerView Automated system. Call our window treatment and flooring store today to learn more.

  • Our home is rented for a portion of the year and I’m worried that renters may misuse a motorized blind and cause more issues. What do you think?

In our experience, rental guests (or any guest staying in a home for a short period of time) have an easy time using the Hunter Douglas motorization. It’s a very user-friendly system and we simplify the operation so that there is little room for error. It also helps eliminate more people touching the window treatments. Call our window treatment and paint store today to learn more!

  • I want to put new flooring into my rental property that will withstand heavy use and won’t break the bank. Which should I choose?

In the mountain community, we see a lot of rental properties and we love helping to make each one beautiful on a budget! As one of the top flooring stores in the area, we have several offerings within a range of price points. You can either go the hard surface route of LVT, or soft surface with carpet, or a combination of the two. In either case, we have products that work within any budget and will withstand most rental guests, whether it’s during ski season, bike season, or mud season.

  • I’m looking to install new flooring in our commercial office space. Would you recommend hard surfaces or carpet?

We offer an array of commercial flooring, including carpet, carpet tile, vinyl plank, and vinyl tile. Generally speaking, we like to install hard surfaces anywhere that there is a lot of traffic, or where there might be more spills, soling, and cleaning. In more private spaces, like offices, we can install carpet to create a soft, quiet, and comfortable feel. As one of the area's recommended flooring stores, we love to work directly with each of our clients to find out what makes the most sense and meets their specific needs.
